The initial post was posted by @liveadaycreative , a branding and web design agency. Supporting your friends have a bigger impact than you think. From having my own record label company to now being a social media marketer, I’ve had quite a couple of small businesses.

Use social media to support your friends business

When it comes to business, we are lucky to live in an era where social media is mostly free and can offer great exposure. Back in the days, people had billboards, newspapers, television, and radio were different ways to promote their business. They were expensive solutions that had all one thing in common, you didn’t know exactly who you were talking to and who was exposed to your advertisement. Now, we have Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Spotify and more to promote your business. By linking a post, you are not only showing love, but you are helping your friend get their way through the algorithm of these social media. By liking a post, you are showing them love and a ”like” goes a long way. I remember years ago when I was using Twitter actively, Friday’s would be the day for #FollowFriday. This used to be huge because of every Friday, the accounts I was following me recommended me other accounts for me to discover.

If you have a business and you don’t have an Instagram Business Page, you should get on that right away. I previously shared a blog that tackles the issue.

You can support your friends business offline

When was the last time that you called your friend to check up on them and see if you could help? Helping a friend with a small business goes a long way. The grind ain’t glam. I am thankful that I had friends that helped me along the way for my different ventures. When a friend throws an event, show up. Call a friend when you have time, ask them if you could help them with anything. Most of them might say that they are all good but just by calling them, they will feel that you are there for them. Nothing beats the feeling of knowing that you have people that care for you and that they can help you if ever you need help. Read that again.

Being supportive, being an accountability partner or simply being there for them has a lot of impact on your friends business. Often people may ask for freebies, be the friend that wants to pay for the service. I personally value more the friends that helped me more in my business over the one that are not involved at all with it.

That being said, who’s business are you gonna support today? **hint** share this article!
