My Winter Bucket List

Here comes the time of the year where I mostly spend my time indoors watching television or playing video games. I’ll be honest with you all, Winter is not my favorite season because I don’t do any winter activities. Most people look forward to that season because they get to go skiing, snowboarding, skating and all. Unfortunately, for me, Winter is the season of hibernation. This year, it will be different because I plan to be active. In fact, I want to share with you my Winter bucket list. By doing so, I am accountable for it, but also it is an open invitation to you to join me.

My Winter Bucket List

1 – Spend a night at the Ice Hotel in Quebec City.

Open from January 4th to March 26th, the Ice Hotel in Quebec City is on top of my Winter bucket list. It is the ONLY ice hotel in North America and I am up for the challenge of sleeping one night there. It would be an amazing vlog for my Youtube channel but also, after the night Rich and I spent in Halifax glamping, I am ready for another cold night. If you would like to know what the Ice Hotel looks like, head over their website to see a 360° virtual tour.

2 – Skiing or Snowboarding

I am born and raised in Montreal and I don’t know how to do either. Skiing and snowboarding has been on my mind for many years now but I never did anything about it. I went skiing once, few years ago, and had a bad experience. I ended up skiing straight into the woods… FAIL! Now that it is part of my bucket list for this winter, I want to go to Mont-Tremblant, Mont-St-Sauveur or any other Mont to finally make it happen.

3 – Attend the Québec Winter Festival.

From February 8th to the 17th, the Québec Festival has been one of the things I wanted to do since I am a kid. In terms of activities, there’s an ice sculpture workshop, night parade, canoe race and much more! By the end of this Winter, I want a selfie with Bonhomme Carnaval! For more information about this festival and to understand why it is in my Winter bucket list, head over their website here! (At this exact moment, I am submitting a media accreditation request, let’s hope I get it!)

4 – Skate at the Arrowhead Ice Skating Trail.

Side note, I need to step up my skating skills. I can skate a bit but I have no clue how to brake. That being said, I think this would be necessary for me to have the ultimate experience. Now, the Arrowhead Skating Trail is a 1.3 km through the Muskoka Forest in Ontario. At night, the trail is illuminated by hundreds of tiki torches.

5 – Spa during a snowstorm

I’ve been to a spa many times and I suggest you go as well to treat yourself. However, there’s something cozy and relaxing when I think about going to the spa during a snowstorm. Just picture this: there’s a snowstorm, everybody is stuck at home but YOU, yes YOU are somewhere in the woods, in a jacuzzi. Not only that, you also have a fireplace back in your hotel room and at this point, you also have a 1hr massage.

6 – King of the Hill Battle

There comes the time where you just want to feel like a child again, and this Winter, it will happen! Last winter, I was talking with my friend Richard and we thought about this EPIC youtube video that we could do with this concept in mine. If you are interested, let’s make it happen! We will find a big snow hill and revive one of my greatest childhood dream again.

7 – Igloofest

This Winter’s lineup at Igloofest is out of this world. From January 17th to February 2nd, the coldest festival of Montreal will host Diplo, Chris Lake and more. I’ve been to Igloofest twice already and had a blast both times. However, be sure that you are dressed warm because it gets very cold. To know more about the lineup, head over their website here.

8 – GET THE FUCK OUT

Of course, this would be part of my Winter’s bucket list. This year has been a great year when it comes to traveling and going away this winter would be AMAZING. I do not have a specific destination in mind but I saw some great deals online already for this Winter. Interjet offers great deal for Mexico (approximatively 250$ to Mexico) and Norwegian offers a great deal for Guadeloupe (360$ Round Trip).

What about you, what are your plans for this Winter? Would love to know more about them so do not hesitate to send me an email or to let me know on Instagram!
