10 Jul An Evening At Montreal Cocktailfest!
Yesterday, I went to the first edition of Montreal CocktailFest and it was amazing! Many of my favorite bars in the city were there to serve the best cocktails in town and some of them were doing it in style. Bord’elle, Santos, Boho, Le Royal, le Bootlegger and more were there.
What is Montreal CocktailFest?
This event was THE EVENT if you are a fan of cocktails. Picture this: the top 20 bars in Montreal, under one roof, and it is an open bar! ( I had a media pass thanks to Ashley!) but it was also a very affordable festival! Cocktails didn’t cost much than 5 tickets and for 40$ you had 40 tickets… 80$ for open-bar!
The event took place at the St-James Theatre in the Old Port of Montreal. It was a great location to host such an event but I would definitely suggest to host it on an outside venue next time. The only thing missing yesterday was the sun. The St-James theatre is a dark location I would say and an outside venue would have made this event more epic.
Over 450 people attended that event and it went smoothly. I didn’t show it on my Youtube video but I had over 8 drinks and maybe 6 burgers from Les Enfants Terrible!
That being said, I will go back to this event next year because I had fun, it was a good opportunity to meet local bartenders and to try all these specialty drinks!
Head over the vlog above to see my experience!
Side note: I have a cool story to share with Le Bootlegger. When they opened a few years back I received a message from the owner on MTLPRomos to come to visit them. I went and fell in love with the bar right away. I went back a couple of times after with my friend Richard and we asked the owner if I could have my own drink on the menu! I am not a bartender but I am definitely a marketing expert. We did our own old-fashioned and named it le West Island. 2 years later, le West Island is still a bestseller there… TAKE THAT TAKE THAT (Diddy Voice)
