11 Feb Nobody Told Me It Was Winning Season (January Recap)

Many people like to say ” New Year, New Me” in my case, it felt more like ”New Year, the plants are growing” and I will tell you why. Since I quit my job in 2016, I have been working hard on my brand and on building a name that people can remember. In case you didn’t know, my goal is to create my own platform and have a show like Jimmy Fallon, Trevor Noah or James Corden. However, to be able to have this type of production it requires a lot of work and ”the dream is free but the hustle is sold separately”.  That being said, in 2018 I HUSTLED.  The month of January started the year strong for me and here’s why!

1 – I’ve done the coolest collaboration!

Two years ago I registered myself on the website Hashtag Paid, a creator media platform that helps creator to find collaboration deals. They work with big brands such as Coca-Cola, Volvo, Visa and more. They contacted me to create French content for Participaction new app ( Available on App Store and Play Store)  that helps you fit physical activity in your busy life and rewards you for it. I had to do 4 videos that will be available on the app! (Curling, Rock Climbing, Boxing and just me cooking).

2 – I’ve done many interviews that were recorded!

The goal for me is to be everywhere, I need everybody to know who I am. Often my friends are like ”Steve, you are everywhere” but I want to get to the point where I become annoying. I want to become to the point that Kevin Hart was 3 years ago… I mean, look at him now! In January I did a few radios, podcasts appearances. Here are some of the links.

• I went on the 713 Show to talk about how I started my social media business, how I built MTLPromos and more
• I did the Millenial Panel live on Dr. Laurie Betito show where I talked about my thoughts on relationships and other subjects.

3 – I launched my IGTV Show!

As you may know, I am a big fan of Instagram and love to post many stories. While Pavel and I were recording the last video for Participaction in my basement, I thought it would a good idea to share some stories that few people know about me. One hour later, I had 6 episodes recorded and the concept made sense so I edited them with the help of Elias and Rich and officially launched it! As I am writing this blog, there are 3 episodes available but you can watch the first one HERE.

4 – I’ve done ALOT of videos.

I started the year with a lot of collaborations and by creating videos. Here’s some of the work I’ve done in January.

5 – I’ve got nominated Blogger of the Year for Gala Dynastie!

February is the Black History Month and for the Gala Dynastie will be back again this year for a third edition. The main mission of the Gala Dynasty is to make Quebec’s Black Excellence shine. The Gala Dynasty is dedicated to honoring people from Black communities around the arts, media, and culture, whose work includes and achievements deserve to be recognized. I’ve been nominated for Blogger of the Year and it is an honor for me to be amongst other bloggers that I respect a lot.
